My Bio
At a very late age I found that I had some creative skill, so much so that I wanted to do everything at once. I still haven't picked a favorite. I love sculpting with polymer clay, designing wire wrapped jewelry and writing - even a little painting. Life events and health have gotten in the way over the past two years and I'm ready to immerse myself again - and I still can't pick a place to start. I am so inspired by everything I see here and I might get busy if I can pull myself away from browsing your incredible art.

In Memory Of A Great Doll Artist

I've been out of the loop for so long that I haven't even browsed the internet to see what other polymer clay doll artists are up to in more than a year. My excitement over finding hanniesarris (https://www.deviantart.com/hanniesarris) here at DA quickly turned to dismay when I found that she passed away a year ago today, which happens to be my birthday. I find that strangely significant since I am just getting back into my craft.
I never had any direct contact with hannie, but her "voice" on her website conveys such a friendly, loving and caring energy that you feel that you know her - and you feel like she cares about you, personally. Her love for the art and for the doll

I took a baby step today toward getting back into my art and the Universe definitely led me toward the right one. "To keep a long story short" - due to the economy and health issues, I lost my house. My husband had passed away about a year before that. When I moved, I had no energy and was rather depressed. If not for some wonderful friends and neighbors I may have just left everything and walked away. They packed up my craft room and I will be forever grateful because I know that my investment in materials went with me. Well, not really. But just slightly.
I love browsing this site. The wire jewelry artists have done things that I have never considered and this is such an inspiration. My brain is spinning with all of the creative ideas they have prompted. I have seen many, many polymer clay dolls over the past few years and all of them are something to aspire to, but I ran across one artist last night, fairesndreams, whose work is the best I feel I have ever seen. Now that is intimidating because even if I practice for the next ten years, I doubt that I'll ever be that good.
